Hosting and server logs

This website runs on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany). When you visit the site, the server automatically processes technical access data: IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, transferred data volume, and the user agent sent by your browser. This data is required to operate and secure the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is not combined with other data sources. Log files are deleted automatically after a short period. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner.

Contact form

When you use the contact form, the data you enter is processed: name, email address, and message, plus optionally organization and budget range. The data is stored in a self-hosted content management system on the server named above and additionally delivered as a notification to my mailbox. The purpose of this processing is handling your inquiry and initiating a potential working relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise (f)).

Stored inquiries are deleted automatically after 12 months, unless an inquiry leads to an engagement subject to statutory retention obligations. When you submit the form, your IP address is processed briefly to fend off automated abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), but it is not stored with your inquiry.

Contact by email

If you contact me directly by email, your data is processed in my mailbox for the purpose of handling the inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and therefore needs no consent banner. Only technically required entries are used (§ 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG): a cookie remembering your language choice (lifetime 12 months), plus entries in your browser's local storage for the display preference (light/dark) and the session state of animations. This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to third parties.

No third-party services

Fonts are served by this website itself; no connection is made to Google Fonts or other external services. No analytics, statistics, or social media services are embedded. The site contains links to external offerings — such as appointment booking via Cal.com. When you follow such links, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

Encryption

All data transferred between your browser and this website is encrypted via TLS (indicated by the lock icon and the https:// prefix).

Your rights

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR), and to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). An informal email to the address above is sufficient to exercise these rights.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

Currency of this policy

This privacy policy is updated whenever the actual data processing on this website changes. The version published here applies.
